Costa Restarts Cruises March 27 With Costa Smeralda

The cruise ships of Costa Cruises, the Italian business of Carnival Company & plc, will established sail yet again with the departure of the flagship Costa Smeralda on March 27. It will run an unchanged itinerary, sailing guests on three- and 4-day mini-cruises or, alternatively, a say-day cruise, calling at Savona, La Spezia, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Messina and Cagliari, all in Italy.

From May perhaps 1, Costa Smeralda will return to sailing just one-week cruises in the western Mediterranean, with visits to Italy (Savona, Civitavecchia and Palermo), France (Marseille) and Spain (Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca).

A 2nd ship, Costa Luminosa, will also be back again in services, departing from Trieste from May 2, and the next working day from Bari, confirming its application of a person-7 days cruises in Greece and Croatia.

Costa states it is doing work with national and area authorities of the countries involved in the itineraries of its ships outside Italy to define the specifics of the restart of cruise operations, with enhanced health and basic safety actions as a result of the implementation of the “Costa Basic safety Protocol.”

The protocol is made up of operational actions connected to all elements of the cruise practical experience, both on board and ashore, which were implemented in the past months of cruise functions. Such actions incorporate limited capacity, swab exams for all friends and crew, temperature checks when disembarking and re-embarking the ship, guarded shore excursions, bodily distancing on board and at the cruise terminals, new ways of using on-board services, enhanced sanitation and healthcare solutions, and use of protecting experience masks when important.

All other cruises scheduled right up until the close of May will be cancelled. Costa is in the method of informing vacation advisors and clients affected by alterations.
