Ferran steps into role as IAG chairman | News

Worldwide Airlines Team has confirmed that Antonio Vazquez has retired as a director of the company and chairman of the board.

As formerly declared, Javier Ferran has succeeded him as chairman.

Ferran said: “Antonio was instrumental in the generation and development of IAG and has led the board with integrity and rigour due to the fact the group’s formation in January 2011.

“He has created a large contribution to IAG and, earlier, in his job as president of Iberia.

“On behalf of the board, I’d like to thank Antonio for his commitment and assistance and wish him effectively in the foreseeable future.”

IAG is the guardian enterprise to airlines such as British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Vueling.

Vazquez claimed: “It’s been a wonderful honour to direct IAG’s board.

“I would like to thank my board colleagues for their confidence and assist, and the IAG administration and personnel for their great contribution just about every working day as they create our group.

“I’m persuaded that, underneath the management of Javier Ferran and Luis Gallego, IAG will continue on acquiring sustainably, when adhering to corporate governance very best observe.”
