Air Italy enters liquidation in tough trading conditions | News

Air Italy has entered liquidation soon after shareholders – Alisarda and Qatar Airways – refused to commit even further means in the corporation.

The airline shed €164 million in 2018, centered on income of €283 million.

In a statement Air Italy mentioned all flights would be operated, by alternate airlines, right up until February twenty fifth.

Departures are expected to acquire off at the moments and on the days beforehand scheduled.

In a statement Qatar Airways mentioned: “Despite our minority shareholder’s part, Qatar Airways has constantly provided all attainable help to Air Italy proper from the beginning, from releasing plane from our fleet and purchasing new plane for Air Italy, to backing administration possibilities and injecting money and investment decision as necessary and permitted.

“Even with the changing aggressive surroundings and the ever more tough sector problems severely impacting the air transportation field, Qatar Airways has continuously reaffirmed its motivation, as a minority shareholder, to go on investing in the corporation to generate price for Italy and the travelling general public.”

The Middle Jap carrier took a forty nine for every cent stake in Air Italy in September 2017.
